Technical Assurance Project Engineer

Job Summary
​
E&P company with US headquarters located in The Woodlands, Texas is increasing operations and project activity with a resulting need to increase focus on both the technical aspects of Operations and Project Development and on-going operations. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering engineering assessments and designs for an FPSO upgrade and provide technical assurance and asset integrity regarding proposed changes to an existing FPSO. You will make recommendations to the GM of Projects. In addition, you may also perform project engineering activities for a Well Head Platform, MOPU upgrades and pipelines. This role will work out of their corporate offices located in The Woodlands, Texas with periodic travel to Nigeria during construction activities. To be successful in this role, you will champion a “no incident” HSE mind set and deliver excellent HSE performance, develop the design life extension and asset integrity work scopes for an FPSO.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Define the detailed surveys (wall thickness, corrosion extent, ballast piping condition assessment, etc.) and data acquisition to be completed on the FPSO to develop the repair program.

Complete detailed design engineering work through 3rd Party FPSO Engineering Service Providers, including managing the engineering company program and providing technical supervision and quality control for design activities.

Manage internal and external interfaces, including coordination with regulatory bodies, NNPC/NAPIMS, and internal and external stakeholders to ensure all permits and approvals are obtained timely.

Serve as Technical Authority to confirm that proposed changes to the FPSO are consistent with its design, are structurally sound, meet all standards and regulations, and are safe and do not compromise Asset Integrity.

Develop contracting strategies, prepare bid lists and bid documents, evaluate RFQ submittals, and participate in negotiating price and contract terms.

Develop Project Execution Plans (including cost estimate, schedule, and budget) for design life extension and asset integrity projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
​

BS or MS degree in engineering.

Minimum of 15 years’ experience working in the Marine or E&P sector as an engineer/project engineer.

Some experience working for an Engineering Contractor is desirable.

Must have a solid understanding of Naval Architecture, Structural Engineering, Asset Integrity and Process Safety issues and Technical Authority processes.

Experience working with ABS (American Bureau of Shipping).

Proven record of delivering projects with excellent HSE, schedule, and budget performance.

Able to travel to Lagos, Port Harcourt, fabrication sites, and offshore for extended periods.

Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary, cross functional, multi-location team environment.

Familiarity with Primavera and Microsoft Project scheduling tools and expertise in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
